Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Therapica you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Therapica is

Therapica is an AI-guided psychological self-help and psychoeducation platform. It provides structured exercises, guided audio, readings, journaling, and conversations with an AI therapist ("Caelia") based on evidence-based frameworks (CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness).

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Therapica. By registering you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
• You must not share your account or impersonate another person.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
• Upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
• Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or payment controls.

6. AI-generated content

Sessions, cards, guided audio scripts, and Caelia's responses are generated by AI and may contain inaccuracies. Always use your own judgment. We do not guarantee that AI output is error-free or suitable for your specific situation.

7. Safety protocol

When risk indicators are detected (e.g., self-harm language or elevated scale scores), Therapica displays crisis resources and adjusts Caelia's tone to be more containing. You are never blocked from continuing to use the platform. This protocol does not constitute clinical monitoring.

8. Subscriptions & payments

Where Stripe is enabled, subscriptions are billed via Stripe. Prices and trial periods are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. You can manage or cancel your subscription via the Stripe Customer Portal (Settings → Billing). Self-hosted deployments may be free and do not require a subscription.

9. Intellectual property

The Therapica name, design system, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Your journaling entries, conversation messages, and other user content remain yours. By submitting feedback or reviews you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use them to improve the service.

10. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

11. Disclaimer & liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
